Now we have two holograms with filenames: IMAGE2 and IMAGE3. Let's
display them side by side as they will be simultaneously photographed
for production of the beam-combining optics of a photonic transistor.
Note the differences between the holograms. One projects an image of
a dot at the focus. The other also projects a dot at that same spot.
However the light arriving one side is 180 degrees out of phase from
the light which arrives from the other side.
This occurs, because HIMAGE.COM has made white (transparent in the
functioning hologram,) every pixel that produces constructive inter-
ference at the focus from the left side. However by changing the phase
of the right side input, HIMAGE.COM has made white, every pixel which
will now send light out of phase with every pixel from the first
hologram. Thus, when both hologram inputs are on, DESTRUCTIVE INTER-
FERENCE takes place at the focus, and the LIGHT IS DISPERSED ELSEWHERE
ON THE OUTPUT SQUARE.
The display syntax is: DIMAGE IMAGE2 IMAGE3. The one on the left.
is the first one displayed.
